VEGAN EATING PLAN
The amazing nutrition plan that teaches portion control while balancing all the food groups your body needs to be at your best is also available with plant-based foods, only! Here is an overview of how the portion system works and below I will explain how the meal plan is modified to remove animal proteins and keep your boy fueled!
The Vegan Eating Plan removes all animal products from the food lists—and there are adjustments to balance protein and carbs accordingly. To allow for complete proteins that are not animal-based, beans and other legumes, are not counted as carbs.
Carbohydrates are split into two groups. There is one group that contains whole grains and the second group contains tubers and more processed grains (pastas and breads).
Animal products are considered complete proteins, since they contain acceptable levels of all nine of the amino acids essential to humans, as do a few plant-based sources, including soy, hemp, and quinoa. Vegans can rely on these sources, but they also need to think strategically when looking for complete proteins, mainly by eating a combination of legumes and grains.
Keep in mind that you don’t need to eat what’s in the two categories at the same time. Oatmeal for breakfast and chickpeas on your salad at lunch will have the same nutritional impact as having them together.
The food list provided in your tools will mark foods that are complete proteins to help you focus on them. It’s always a good idea to lean toward those, but not at the risk of eliminating variety. The balanced nutrition in this approach is equally as healthy as plans that include animal proteins while the extra fiber will still give you a weight-loss advantage.
As healthy as they can be, vegan diets can be low in vitamins B12 and D, so it’s important to take a quality supplement which is why Vegan Shakeology is included in this plan. The labels for vegan Shakeology do not list all the vitamins and minerals because they are not fortified with measurable levels and therefore cannot be quantified.
Shakeology consists of whole foods ingredients that will naturally supplement you vitamin intake. Shakeology is going to feed your cells what they need to provide your body the energy and stamina it deserves. You’ll feel it, even if the IU or mg content isn’t necessarily in writing.
SHAKEOLOGY
One of the keys to success with this nutrition plan is Shakeology. It simplifies your nutrition by adding a convenient and delicious daily superfood protein shake that helps give you energy for your workouts, reduces junk food cravings, and may help you reach your fitness goals faster. It is a nutrient-dense combination of rare ingredients that gives your body superfoods you can’t get from a normal diet. You can see the nutrition labels of both the vegan and whey-based Shakeology here.
I know there are lower cost shakes out there and I have researched most of them. They all come up short in one department…you can’t beat the all natural ingredients, high quality whole foods, dense content of superfoods, pre/pro-biotics, high protein, no fillers, no artificial ingredients…the list goes on. Shakeology has been worth every penny in my household.
